First day at WoWMoM 07

The day starts at 6 o'clock after a relaxing night (even if the sun doesn't really set at all, at this latitude). At 8 I'm in front of the Takka room (where the "Theory meets practice" workshop is held) in the Dipoli building. After four other talks, it's my turn and I manage to do quite well, I don't get stuck and the topic seems to raise interest and to be quite accepted.
I'm relieved! :)

At 5 o'clock the workshop is over and, since the weather seems rather good, I decide to go to Helsinki and do some sightseeing: the main problem is how to get the right bus since I hardly know how to pronounce "Helsinki" and the other stations' names are far worse! Well... turns out that I somehow get to the city: Helsinki is absolutely awesome! You can see some of the pictures I shot below.

Now I'm back to the hotel. I need some rest in order to be ready for the long day tomorrow. If I manage to wake up in time I'll go to the swimming pool in the morning.

P.S.: concerning Finnish, I'm always more convinced that it is some kind of exotic version of swiss-german. I have some proofs this time: first, the official greeting is pronounced "Hoi!"... aaaand, coffee is written "Kahvi" (those who speak swiss-german will understand).
